B.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders

All undergraduates seeking enrollment in the Communication Sciences and Disorders (LSH, ITT) degree program must be in good academic standing as undergraduate students at the University of South Florida. It is highly recommended that students complete general distribution requirements, complete pre-requisites, successfully pass the CLAST, and achieve approximately 60 semester hours of coursework prior to beginning coursework in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Students who have concerns relative to their first 60 semester hours of coursework or their general academic distribution credits are encouraged to see advisors in the division of Undergraduate Studies.

Approximately two years of concentrated upper level study is required to complete the undergraduate program. Courses in this major are sequenced with specific prerequisites for advanced course placement. These prerequisites are identified in the USF Undergraduate Catalog. The Department's undergraduate advisors will assist you in selection of appropriate courses for each semester.

The undergraduate program in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) offers two curriculum concentrations that lead to the B.A. degree, Speech-Language-Hearing Science (LSH) and Interpreter Training (ITT).

If you have questions about the undergraduate program you may contact an undergraduate advisor by email at csdadvising@cas.usf.edu or by phone at (813) 974-7428.
